Well got the Aussie loss down to a small heart break, and Spot is laying on the couch over a week ago, and DH petting him while we watch TV. DH
says "did you see this on the side of Spot?" Take a look, geeze the cat has a straight line cut about 5" long down his side. Open, but not
bleeding so we called the vet the next day and took him in. We were pretty sure no bite, left him with the vet and sure enough got a phone call, "no bite,
but the cut went under the skin and down to the abdomen!" Had to spend the weekend with a drain tube and staples. Came home a week ago, with all the
staples, a head collar, and NO Going Outside!!! Took him in Monday, and they took all the staples out, and now he is a happy cat!! He can run outside and of
course the first thing he did was roll in the dirt!!!
Getting the collar off was his biggest thrill, Angel (Of Course!) thought that meant he was her new toy, when he came home with that collar on!!!
The vet and us still do not know what cut him open like that, even the vet said it was not a bite, we both are leaning to a fence wire getting jammed into him. We will probably never know, just hope he doesn't do it again.
