Well iguanas are a big one so i'll throw that name out there, but also llike large snakes etc. Do you think people should be able to keep them? What
about when they grow large and they are hard to house or give proper housing and care to. What about the danger to the handlers? Whats your opinon??

I'm sorta on the fence about this... I like snakes, but even garters can get pretty big-5-6 feet. Pythons and Boas I think should be left to zoos and
other experts.
Large Lizards like Iguanas and Skinks and Tegus can also be up to 6 feet. I don't think they belong in a teeny house, in a teeny cage. They need to be outside and able to do normal lizard things. As much as I would've loved to have Evita, an Argentinian Tegu, there was no way that I could take proper care of her. My house is too small and it can be very cold in the winter. The adult male iguanas can be a handful also from what I've heard...I'd also leave them to experts also. Even Big Bopper, a Beardy was left on the counter at work because the owners couldn't/wouldn't take care of him...Now HE was a great lizard... friendly and liked to ride on me... Before anyone gets ANY pet, they need to research it TO DEATH!~!! I researched for over 2 months before I was going to take Grovyyle. Any idiot who buys an anaconda and then gets suffocated by it deserves it...that's just dumb... |
